Halford Hewitt Winners 2019
En route to victory, Malvern beat the holders Winchester, the Tonbridge team and Watson’s before beating Ampleforth – runners-up now for the past 3 years in succession (some record). The other two teams Malvern beat on the way were Marlborough and Rugby.
In the final against Ampleforth it was 2 matches all and victory hinged on the final match (Beeson and Timberlake) which went to the 23rd hole, before Malvern putted out for victory. An account of the final day can be found here: https://www.halfordhewitt.org/hewitt-2019-sunday/.
